Welcome to the LVC Student Work Placement Scheme web pages. The following information will provide you with a description of the services we offer should you choose to study at LVC.
The Student Work Placement Scheme is designed to provide an insight into the real work place of your chosen profession and thus to help you become more employable. You can browse through this page to get an idea of the opportunities on offer to current students.
At LVC, we have working arrangements with many employers in and around London, who wish to give our students apprenticeship opportunities. The placements are available in a range of fields such as business, media, law, hospitality and marketing. These apprenticeships are three months to a years part-time positioning and are provided to the most deserving of the students. Normally students under Work Placement Schemes work us volunteers, but a small apprenticeship grant may be paid to cover the travel and other expenses. In most cases, with the course of time, the employers tend to pay the apprentice for the work they are doing.
The Student Work Placement Scheme comes under the Student's Welfare Unit and the unit keenly seeks applications from our students. The LVC Students Welfare Unit advertises a range of available opportunities throughout the year.
In the UK, a large proportion of students work part-time and there are government regulations involving international students working in the UK. According to these regulations;

Work full -time in a permanent job.
If you are coming to the UK as a student for six months or less, you must ask the Entry Clearance Officer for permission to work (Ref www.ukvisas.gov.uk)
